The idea for Vitalit originated from a journey of two brothers, Max and Boudewijn, took from Amsterdam to Sidney, Australia.
It was a life long dream to visit this country, so when they were able to get their hands on a reasonably priced ticket they bought it immediately. “We were flying from Frankfurt to Australia with a stopover in Bangkok. Living in Amsterdam we first took a train from Amsterdam to Frankfurt to save money'', Max recalls. They were only able to take ten days off from their jobs so they wanted to get everything out of their short visit to Australia.
Twenty-three hours of heavy travel later, the brothers finally arrived at their destination, the coastal lines of Sidney. “We were beat,” Boudy remembers. “Here are two active young guys but the journey really drained them down.” Due to the lack of sleep, jetlag and dry cabin air, it took them two days to really get back into their grid and enjoy their trip. By then, it was almost time to leave again.
“I got quite grumpy,” Max remembers. “We wanted to enjoy the journey to the max but the jetlag remained in our system longer than desired". So my brother and I began to think. There had to be a solution for this".
As it happens, the related family company Van Eeghen with a long standing experience in functional ingredients and dietary supplements (Over the last 20 years Van Eeghen Functional Ingredients- part of the Van Eeghen Group (since 1662)- has been actively trading and distributing health improving/ functional food ingredients throughout the world), triggered their thoughts to develop a powerfull mix to support the body's resistance against the negative effects traveling so often has.
Back home in Amsterdam, the brothers got increasingly excited about their idea and contacted Dr. Hoffman, an antioxidant expert. Dr. Hoffman was very enthousiastic about their idea and helped them to formulate their first mix of what was to become Vitalit. With little resources to widely test their product, the first prototype of the formula was given away to travelling family and friends.
With the information gained the formula was fine tuned to the present product and a consumer trial was carried out by the Technical University of Delft in the Netherlands amongst a test group of airline travellers. Moreover, safety, quality and continuity of the raw materials were checked and specified in order to conform with the high standards set. From the very beginning we have worked with very special people to develop Vitalit. All of them are extremely talented, experienced and passionate, and determined to make something special.
It took a lot of time and effort, but the brothers finally found their elixir... Vitalit.
